SOSORT - 12 th Conference
May 4-6, 2017 Lyon - France
We are very pleased to announce that the 12th SOSORT International Conference on Scoliosis, will take place in Lyon from May, 4th to 6th in 2017, following the previous editions: Banff (2016), Katowice (2015), Wiesbaden (2014), Chicago (2013), Milan (2012), Barcelona (2011), Montreal (2010), Lyon (2009), Athens (2008), Boston (2007) and Poznan (2006).
The Society on Scoliosis Orthopaedic and Rehabilitation Treatment (SOSORT) was founded in 2006, and brings together scientists and clinicians focused on the conservative treatment of spinal deformities. SOSORT also led to the creation of the official journal of the society, the open BMC Scoliosis and Spinal Disorders Journal. SOSORT has also produced Consensus statements during many of the subsequent meetings on key topics including: bracing, exercises and reasons for justifying treatment.
In 2017, SOSORT will continue the tradition as we offer May, 3rd the pre-conference educational session providing background knowledge on scoliosis, as well as emergent and modern applications such as high rigidity and adult bracing, regional moulding. Many internationally recognised lecturers contribute to the course. The course is meant for Physicians, Physical Therapists, Orthotists, Surgeons and clinical researchers on conservative care of spinal deformity. The conference will cover a wide range of topics including all vertebral deviations as Kyphosis and Spondylolisthesis from infancy to adult life. Finally, to continue developing our clinical research capacity on conservative treatment, a fourth SOSORT research half-day course will be offered Saturday afternoon, May 6th 2017.
With the French Association "Scoliose et Partage (Scoliosis and Sharing)", we will organize a patient day on May 6, after the research Course.
Lyon is a historic city designated as a UNESCO world heritage site. Enjoy the rich history of the town including the tradition of silk-weaving. Among numerous examples, Lyon is the place where Auguste and Louis Lumière invented the "Cinématographe" in 1895. Of course you will enjoy the «French cuisine» and wine in this gastronomic city. It will be an unforgettable experience with the Bocuse’s gala dinner.
The conference will be held at the Palais des Congrès de Lyon, a superb facilities, located between the Rhône River and the beautiful Parc de la Tête d’Or for your morning jog.
